Tuesday I was able to contact the radio station at Langston University, KALU, about screening pass giveaways for Death at a Funeral. They were excited about using the passes, so next week I will be sending passes to KALU at Langston and The Wire at OU. I also started working on a new film, Babies. It's a documentary of sorts following the early lives of four babies in different areas of the world. The target audience is older, interested in film as an art, and mainly women and/or mothers. I brainstormed promotion ideas and researched locations to mail promotional materials to.
Thursday I researched "Mommy Bloggers" around Oklahoma City to contact in the future about promotions for a new movie, Babies. It turns out it is really hard to find bloggers from around the OKC area. I then had to call movie theaters in Oklahoma City and Tulsa to find out who their general manager was for future screenings. This was also surprisingly hard, as most theater numbers only tell you showtimes and do not let you reach a person, much less upper management. After that I began working on The Runaways, starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning, researching locations for poster placements and giveaway hosting. I looked up record stores, vintage stores and some locally owned boutiques in Oklahoma Ciy and Tulsa. I also put together eulogies for various entertainment journalists from a promotional site for Death at a Funeral.
Make a Eulogy
Friday I put up posters and postcards around the OU campus and in area establishments like Starbucks, Tea Cafe, the OU visitor's desk for Death at a Funeral.
